“Linear Variations”
"Life Pot" by Artist
Adam Freed
“Black and White
in Balance””
“Linear Variations”
This piece is wheel thrown in porcelain. The
linear design is carved when the clay is
leather hard. It has a domed lid with a subtle
curve to contrast the straight sides of the
vessel. It is glazed with an Iron saturated
glaze which goes from black to brown,
highlighting the carved design. It is then fired
to around 2400 degrees F.
“Black and White in Balance” -large
This round urn is wheel thrown in porcelain.
The full shape of the body informs and
relates to the biomorphic shapes of the black
matte glaze, which is poured on. A graphic
tension is created with the clay/glaze
contrast. The curve on the lid echoes the
form itself. The piece is fired to approximately
2400 degrees F.

Pet Urns
I have been a ceramic artist in Seattle
for 38 years working primarily in
porcelain on the potter’s wheel. My
forms are functional in context
emphasizing the symmetrical balance
and fluidity that is imbued by forming
on the wheel.

I personally know they do a lot of good with the donations
they are sent.  I chose this charity because of TooTall (my sweet Saint Bernard), My
ceramic business is named after her, she was a very cool
friend.  TooTall's Pottery gives 5% of all sales proceeds to
this charity in the name of TooTall.

If you would like to give to this Charity please contact
